How to choose a tension sensor for a dye jigger?
Jul 03, 2024
Measuring range:
Choose the sensor's measuring range based on the tension range that the jigger is expected to generate during normal operation. A measuring range that is too small may not accurately measure the actual tension, while a range that is too large may result in reduced measurement accuracy. For example, if the jigger typically generates a tension between 50 and 500N, a tension sensor with a measuring range that covers this range should be selected.
Accuracy requirements:
Depends on the characteristics of the fabric and the accuracy requirements of the dyeing process. For fabrics that are dyed with high precision, a high-precision sensor is required, which can usually achieve an accuracy of ±0.5% or even higher. For example, for the dyeing of high-end silk, the tension accuracy requirements are extremely high, so a high-precision tension sensor is required.
Response speed:
The jigger's operating speed may vary, so the sensor needs to have a fast enough response speed to accurately detect tension changes in real time. For example, during high-speed winding, a sensor with a slow response speed may cause tension control lag.
Installation method:
Consider the compatibility of the sensor with the mechanical structure of the jigger to ensure that it can be installed easily and securely. Some sensors are suitable for direct installation on the reel, while others are suitable for installation on the guide roller.
Adaptability to the working environment:
The working environment of the dye jigger may have factors such as humidity, temperature changes, and chemicals. Therefore, the selected tension sensor should be able to work normally in such an environment and have a good protection level and corrosion resistance.
Signal output type:
Common ones are analog signals (such as 4-20mA, 0-10V) and digital signals (such as CAN bus, RS485, etc.). It must be compatible with the control system of the dye jigger to facilitate signal transmission and processing.
Brand and reliability:
Choose well-known brands and products with a good reputation, usually their quality and reliability are more guaranteed, and after-sales service is more complete.
